Short tale how my city has changed within 1 year

2 years ago I was living for a few months in London. Finally, due to different reasons, made up my mind to come back to my family town. I was sure that when I’m back I was going to find my town exactly as it was before. However, I was very wrong. Although nothing important has happened there and everything was similar at first glance, I could see a few minor changes.

Firstly, custom bicycles became very attractive. Almost all of my friends were discussing where and how you may design your own bike. During the day you might see a lot of people who were commuting to work on their bicycles. I have to say that I really liked this change, as I always was thinking about my city as extremely lazy. These days, Because of the fact that using custom single speed bikes became to be that popular, most of my colleagues as well as family members stopped using cars and started to use their own bicycles, more information I don’t even need to mention how positive effect it has on environment. Thanks to this, my city will be even more charming.
Futhermore, I have seen that more and more men and women buy hot drinks to take away. I might see tons of young individuals with cups of coffee on the street. On the one hand, it is rather bad as this paper and plastic cups were probably thrown away after every use.

On the other hand, I considered this as a good thing as this meant that people in my city were becoming richer. Why do I think so? If you are rather poor, you simply can’t afford buy coffee to take away. Most probably you would rather have them at home or have with you your own hot drink in thermos.

What’s more, I have realized that people seemed to be nicer. They were smiling to each other on the street, discussing with each other on train and so on. When I asked somebody about something, the answer was always very polite. That old women who works at the bank became to be much happier than earlier. She even began to smile. Nevertheless, I need to admit something. I really don’t know if all those small things have actually changed, or if I was homesick so badly, that now I see this in much more positive light.
