The medication is often bought in a cardboard packaging. Within, several blisters and the leaflet are put. Why blisters? Firstly, they isolate the medicine from external environment: humidity and dirt. Its material is not picked at will. It is plastic or aluminium. Chemical compounds, for example PVC and its mixtures with other substances are used. They can be quickly shaped with the help of special machines under high temperature conditions. After the wanted shape of the blister is finished, the tablets are put into it. Last, they are closed by the lid. That part is typically made of aluminium or plastic film. During tablet packaging production, a wide range of factors must be taken into account. The substrate material which is applied should not react with the medicine. It ought to be durable enough to protect the tablets from any damage. Nevertheless, the final packaging must be easy to use. Elderly patients must be able to unpack it without bigger problems, but not the children. It is quite difficult to invent such sort of blister.
